Scientific Symposia
Symposia convene renowned speakers from all over the world and cover a wide range of topics in the fields of clinical microbiology. A number of symposia are arranged in cooperation with ESCMID Study Groups, while others are jointly organized with partner societies or international health organisations. Symposia give an overview over recent developments and research results, in some cases reviewing the literature or featuring pro-con debates. ECCMID features 1-hour and 2-hour symposia, with 2 or 4 speakers respectively. Speakers are invited to give a 25' presentation and to discuss with the audience; during their presentation, they can interact with the public by asking interactive questions.
